Making deliveries on the same day that orders are placed is a major logistical challenge. Compact Gaz sp. z o. o. – a company specializing in the sale of technical and food gases in cylinders – it serves several dozen points in Greater Poland and eastern Germany every day.
Not long ago, route planning took a lot of time and required the involvement of specialists. Today, this process takes just a few minutes – and can be carried out by any member of the team. What has changed? System implementation Routimo.
Challenge: Limited time, multiple points, manual planning
Compact Gaz operates a very precise schedule: orders are accepted until 10:00, and drivers must be ready to leave by 11:00. Between these points, there are only 30 minutes to plan a route for six vehicles. That means up to 60 points a day to consider.
Until now, routes were created manually – in a spreadsheet, with addresses copied to Google Maps. This model of work was inefficient and burdened with the risk of errors.
What made planning difficult?
- limiting the number of points in Google Maps (max. 10),
- the need to create separate route lists for drivers,
- high risk of errors when rewriting data,
- dependence on one or two people who knew the system,
- no integration with driver apps – everything was printed.
Solution: a simple but effective system
The Compact Gaz team began analyzing available solutions to support route planning. They were looking for a tool that would:
- will be easy to use,
- will enable the service of multiple points at the same time,
- can be customized to suit your needs,
- will eliminate the need to use paper documents.
The choice fell on Routimo – a system that met all expectations without having to revolutionize everyday work.

Implementation stage: quick start, full customization
The implementation process was fast – it took 2–3 days. Immediately after the launch, the company was able to abandon Excel and start planning routes in Routimo.
During use, further needs were identified and addressed by the system:
- the ability to enter orders with the customer's address,
- adapting the report for drivers to their actual route,
- automatic generation of loading lists in the appropriate order.
Routimo has proven to be a flexible platform that grows with the customer.
The result: time savings and greater team independence
The effects of the changes introduced appeared immediately:
- route planning time has been reduced from 30–40 minutes to 5–10 minutes,
- the process can now be carried out by five people, not just a specialized planner,
- routes are more optimized and fuel consumption is lower,
- drivers no longer need printouts – they have all the data in the application,
- the entire process is possible remotely – all you need is a browser,
- the system enables analysis and comparison of routes from different days.
