Taking into account the location time helps to shorten the planned service time of route points in a situation where several parcels need to be delivered to one address (one location).
Routimo normally assumes that a driver needs a certain amount of time to complete a task. If he has two tasks to complete at the same address, it is assumed that he spends the sum of the time it takes to complete both tasks there.
To illustrate the issue, let's assume that the task completion time is 10 minutes, so for two tasks at the same address Routimo assumes that the driver needs 20 minutes.

In practice, it sometimes looks different. If the driver is already at a given address with a parcel, then the completion of subsequent tasks may take him much less time. Let's assume that the driver needs an average of 8 minutes to get out of the car, get to the customer and return to the car. He needs only 2 minutes to hand over the parcel. In this case, if he has only one task at the point, he will spend a total of 10 minutes there (the same as standard), but if he has two tasks, instead of the previous 20 minutes, only 12 will be planned (8 minutes + 2 tasks of 2 minutes each). In the case of three parcels, the difference is even greater - instead of 30 minutes, only 14 (8 minutes + 3 tasks of 2 minutes each).
The time saved in this way can be used to plan more tasks on the route, and the route plan itself will be closer to actual implementation.

The localization time is the time that the driver spends in a location regardless of the number of tasks - in our example it is 8 minutes. The localization time can be set in any range and is common to all points in the project. Setting the time to 0 will cause Routimo to plan routes without taking into account the localization time.

Location time is available in the Professional package.
