Time windows

Time windows are used to define the hours (or days of the week) in which a shipment can be scheduled to be delivered to a point. You can specify this information when creating a new point or editing it. By default, in [Time windows], the "checks" are marked for each day, without defining the hourly range for the point. Most often, however, points are available at specific hours or days, so entering a time range will make route planning much easier.
If the point is available every day at fixed hours, you can enter [Start time] and [End time] for it in the [Every day] line. The same time ranges will immediately appear for the days marked with a "tick". If you uncheck the checkbox for the selected day, the word "Closed" will appear on the right. This means that the point will not be planned for that day of the week. You can also change the time range for individual days. If you move the mouse cursor over the time you want to change, a red X will appear, which you can use to delete the planned time, as well as a blue clock icon, thanks to which you can set a new [Start time] or [End time]. You can also set only one of the values, then the system will plan the route so that the vehicle arrives no earlier than the set time (for [Start time]), or no later than the set range (for [End time]).

If we enter [Start time] and [End time] in the [Every day] line, then all days of the week will have the same setting. The route for all days will be planned in the ranges from 10.00:18.00 to XNUMX:XNUMX.

Example 2 shows a situation where almost every day of the week has different time window settings. Therefore, the routes for each day will be planned based on these settings. In the [Every day] row, the [Start time] and [End time] are not defined, which means that there are no time restrictions at a given point, unless an individual time window is set for a specific day.

[Monday] – the time window has been set from 8.00:16.00 to XNUMX:XNUMX, so the system will schedule a visit to this point within this time frame

[Tuesday] – same as [Monday] both times have been entered, so the vehicle will deliver the parcel between 11.00:19.00 and XNUMX:XNUMX

[Wednesday] – on this day route planning will be skipped because the point is Closed

[Thursday] – time limits have not been defined, so the system will schedule a visit to the point at any time

[Friday] – [Start time] has not been set, but [End time] has been set for 16.00:16.00 PM. This means that the visit to the point will be scheduled for no later than XNUMX:XNUMX PM

[Saturday] – here, unlike in [Friday], [Start Time] was set at 10.00:10.00, and [End Time] was omitted. This means that the visit to the point will be scheduled for no earlier than XNUMX:XNUMX

[Sunday] – the checkbox was “unchecked” and the word “Closed” appeared, so the system will not plan a route for this day, the same as on [Wednesday]

In this case, the user has set the default time window from 10,00:16.00 to XNUMX:XNUMX in the [Everyday] row. With this setting, each day initially has the same time frame. The user decides to modify the restrictions for individual days, leaving only the default range for [Wednesday].
