Point Split

Splitting a point allows you to split a shipment into two tasks. This is a procedure used by planners to complete a vehicle's route when the entire shipment does not fit in the vehicle. In such a case, the planner splits the point and leaves enough of the contents in the original shipment to fit on the route. The remainder goes to a copy, which can be scheduled on a different route or on a different day.
The shipment split is available when the document items are completed, in the [Points Database] and in [Points] in the Project within the action buttons section.
When you click the icon showing branching arrows, the following window will appear.

On the left side is information about the original point – read-only. On the right side is data about the copy being created (for editing).

[Name] – by default, the name of the copy will be the name of the original point followed by "_2", the next division will be "_3", etc. You can choose a different name for the created point.

[Expected completion date] – default is current day + one day.

[Calculate from item] – control visible only when the shipment has non-zero values in [Shipment size] or [Shipment weight]. Selected by default. When selected, each transfer of quantity or weight value in the shipment item from the original point to the copy and vice versa will result in recalculation of [Shipment size] and [Shipment weight] based on the [Quantity] and [Weight] fields of the individual items.

[Shipment size] – integer. It can be changed manually or automatically (see [Calculate from position]). Changing the value on the copy side updates the value on the original side. The value on the left side is the initial value. Please note that there may be more shipment sizes. This should be reported to us via the contact form. However, for the next capacities (2 and 3) the changes are only manual – the [Calculate from position] mechanisms do not work.

[Shipment weight] - similarly as above, only for Weight/Capacity.

[Shipment Items] – list of shipment items with name. Up to three are displayed with an optional scroll bar. At first, all items are on the left side. You can move the entire item to the right side by pressing the [Move] button. You can also do the opposite and move the entire item from the copy to the original point by pressing the [Move] button. You cannot change [Quantity] and [Weight] in moved items, it is read-only. You can only change the [Quantity] and [Weight] values in the item that was copied using the [Copy] button and only in the copy (on the right side).

If [Quantity] is a number, then [Quantity] in the copy takes the value 0 and allows only the entry of an integer. Changing the value causes a corresponding change on the left side, so that their sum always equals the initial value. Additionally, the change causes the [Shipment size] field to be recalculated if the [Calculate from position] option is selected. If [Quantity] is not a number, then the text must be duplicated in the copy. In this case, the field is read-only.

Similarly in the case of Libra.

Transferring the shipment position using the [Move] button will be planned in another route.

Copying the shipment item using the [Copy] button. In this case, you can divide [Quantity] and [Weight] so that it fits in the vehicle on the planned route, and you can plan some of the items on the right for another time.

The figure on the left shows the position before copying, and the figure on the right shows the position at the moment of setting the [Quantity] and [Weight] values.

You can find the points from the division in the unassigned points for the project in the [Points Database] under the name you gave or which was created by default with the addition of "_1" or "_2" etc.
