Cars

The [Cars] Register is a database containing basic information about the cars in your fleet. By entering basic data such as the vehicle registration number, make, model or even location and status, you can easily assign a specific car, i.e. a registration number to the vehicle.

When adding a Car, the registration number is a required field. For more precise identification, you can also enter the make and model of the car. Specify the type, location and status.
You can set the vehicle type to Standard or Premium depending on your needs. In [Location] you can indicate the current/permanent parking place of the car, whether it is e.g. at the base or in the garage at ul. Hangarowa 5 in Warsaw.
The car has two statuses available, i.e. [Active] and [Disabled]. If it is active, you can assign it to a vehicle. If, for example, a car is being repaired, you can select "Disabled" and it will not be displayed on the list of cars that can be selected and assigned to a vehicle.
Additionally, you can enter a comment – a short note/information about a given car.

You can assign a car to a vehicle in the [Vehicle Database] or directly in the project being created in the [Vehicles] tab.

Assigning a car in the vehicle database will cause the registration number to be displayed in the project after selecting the vehicle. So if every vehicle in your fleet is always to have the same car (registration number), then such data entry will be the best solution. You will avoid the need to fill in the cars column in each project.

However, this does not exclude the possibility of changing the assigned car to the vehicle. If a situation occurs in which the assigned car is damaged and it is necessary to make changes in the upcoming projects, you can do this both in the vehicle database and directly on a specific project in the vehicles tab and the car column.

The second practical feature of the [Cars] functionality is the ability to assign a car (registration number) only in the project. This solution will be convenient if you do not want to assign a car (registration number) to a vehicle in advance, but decide about it when creating the project. Then, after adding a vehicle, in the [Car] column, you select which registration number is to be assigned to the selected vehicle. This assignment will then apply only to this specific project. The added car (vehicle registration number) will not be saved as permanent, as was the case when it was added in the points database.
