Delivering orders on the same day they are placed is a significant logistical challenge. Compact Gaz sp. z o.o. – a company specializing in the sale of technical and food gases in cylinders – serves several dozen locations daily in Greater Poland and eastern Germany.
Until recently, route planning took a lot of time and required the involvement of specialized personnel. Today, this process takes only a few minutes – and can be performed by any team member. What has changed? The implementation of the Routimo system.
Challenge: limited time, many points, manual planning
At Compact Gaz, there is a very precise schedule: orders are accepted until 10:00 AM, and by 11:00 AM, drivers must be ready to depart. Between these times, there are only 30 minutes to plan routes for six vehicles. This means up to 60 points per day to consider.
Previously, routes were created manually – in a spreadsheet, with addresses copied to Google Maps. This work model was inefficient and prone to errors.
What made planning difficult?
the need to create separate route lists for drivers,
high risk of errors when transcribing data,
dependence on one or two people who knew the system,
lack of integration with driver applications – everything was printed.
Solution: a simple, yet effective system
The Compact Gaz team began analyzing available solutions to support route planning. They were looking for a tool that would:
be easy to use,
allow handling many points simultaneously,
be adaptable to their specific needs,
eliminate the need for paper documents.
The choice fell on Routimo – a system that met all expectations without requiring a revolution in daily operations.

Implementation stage: quick start, full adaptation
The implementation process was express – lasting 2-3 days. Immediately after launch, the company could abandon Excel and start planning routes in Routimo.
During use, further needs were identified, which the system addressed:
the ability to enter orders along with the client’s address,
adapting the driver report to their actual route progression,
automatic generation of loading lists in the correct order.
Routimo, as a platform operating in a SaaS model, proved to be a flexible solution that evolves with the client.
Result: time savings and greater team independence
The effects of the changes appeared immediately:
route planning time was reduced from 30-40 minutes to 5-10 minutes,
the process can now be carried out by five people, not just a specialized planner,
routes are more optimized, and fuel consumption is lower,
drivers no longer need printouts – all data is available in the mobile application,
the entire process is possible remotely – only a browser is needed,
the system allows for analysis and comparison of routes from different days.
